Sorry for not posting until now. I have had some amazing experiences so far. My first day at camp mostly involved setting up a blind and trying to hunt a sable for a client. later that day a client shot a buffalo too far forward with a bow, but I will get to that later. The next morning, Hind and I guided a client from Texas to a cape buffalo, but it was much to dangerous to go on foot, so we shot from the truck. the rest of the day was spent attempting to find the wounded buffalo that was shot the night before. we eventually had to give up. Around five o'clock Willam one of the ph's had me sit about fifteen feet up a power line searching for the wounded animal. it never showed itself. By now this is becoming a deadly situation. The people here have done this before though. A helicopter and bush pilot were hired and the search was on. Willam and I tracked the buff to a certain area where we knew he was bedded down. We told the pilot of his whereabouts, and the pilot lifted off. Then all of the sudden it was like dries visser safaris became a battleground. dries jr. and dries sr. drove out and were ready for the animal once it came. almost every professional hunter and a few clients were waiting for us at our designated spot to kill the buffalo. the plan was to get the chopper to drive the animal past us so that mark, the client who wounded the animal could get a shot and dries Sr. could back him up. The buff was found, and it was game on. the animal ran into the clearing where we were waiting in an old skinning shed. at about thirty yards which felt like ten, the animal was shot by mark, and dries. both men shot again, and then mark shot another time. when it comes to a wounded buffalo one you start shooting you must not stop. the animal had been shot five times with a 375 h&h magnam, and a 470 bolt both guns shooting bullets about the length of a pencil and the thickness of my wrist. the animal finaly went down. this concluded my third day in Africa
